App Store Connect analytics integration

The DataSpice App Store Connect integration reads your own downloads, proceeds and country breakdown from Apple, using a read-only API key you create in your Apple account, and puts them beside the web traffic that produced them. It is Apple only, with no Google Play equivalent, and it is optional.

Why App Store Connect and web analytics never agree

They measure different things on different clocks and neither is wrong. App Store Connect counts product page views and downloads, attributed by Apple, reported on Apple's schedule and in Apple's time zone. Your web analytics counts a visit to your landing page and then loses the person entirely at the tap through to the App Store, because that is a different origin and the referrer usually does not survive it.

So the join happens on dates and volumes rather than on individuals. Having both sources in one workspace is what removes the spreadsheet.

How to connect App Store Connect to DataSpice

  1. In App Store Connect, create an API key with read access to sales and reporting.
  2. Download the key file once. Apple does not let you download it again.
  3. Add the key, the key ID and the issuer ID in DataSpice workspace settings.
  4. Wait for Apple. The first figures arrive on Apple's reporting schedule, not immediately.

How the App Store credential is stored

The key is encrypted before storage, with key material held separately from the data, and it is used only by the backend. It never reaches the browser and no page in the product ever receives it.

It is read-only. DataSpice cannot change anything in your Apple account, submit a build, or alter a listing.

What it does not do

This is not an in-app analytics SDK. Nothing is tracked inside the app itself, so there are no screen views, no in-app funnels, no crash reports and no session replay. A mobile product analytics SDK does that job. This integration answers the acquisition question instead: what brought people to the product page, how many downloaded, and what the app earned.

There is no Google Play integration. If your revenue is split across both stores, DataSpice sees the Apple half plus whatever RevenueCat reports.
